Day 8 - Galleries Lafayette

Today we took it easy but going to 9th arrondissement and more specifically Galleries Lafayette.  What an opulent place!  The kids are sitting at the Moët Champagne bar.
We started in the basement which has women shoes....at least 300+ pairs and puts Nordstrom to shame.  We enjoyed some of the unique ones which we wanted to share but were told in nasty French that we aren't allow to take pictures.  The most favorite was a high heel with the shape of a fish bone using rhinestones going up the foot.  If Grace isn't a fashionista yet, she might be becoming one.  There are 3 buildings; the main one has 7 floors but there is a separate Men's building and Home and housewares.  We spent most of our time on the 5th floor of the main store.  The kids enjoyed looking at all the toys, books and cloths for kids.  Lots of the toys were similar to those at home but there were some unique ones.  The designer clothing for kids were beautiful and way too expensive.  We spent so much time there that we ate on the 5th floor at Lina's.   The food was delicious and the price was great.  Grace and I split a tuna sandwich with sundried tomatoes and black olives.  It was the best sandwich I have ever eaten.  Here is a view from the cafe.
Although the kids had lots of fun in the toy section, the best department was the home and housewares.  They have something for everything and everyone.  Our plan was to walk to Jardin de Tuilleries but after a few wrong turns we decided to go back to the apartment and wait for Jack.  We were tired.  Jack went with us to a store called Picard which only serves frozen foods...gourmet frozen foods.  (I wasn't sure if we needed a membership.)  We picked up some frozen pizzas and macaroons.  All tasted great!
